Kicker S10L7 in SEALED ENCLOSURE

Vehicle : 2000 BMW 540iA Sport with DSP

Well I just finished building my speaker box to that houses an awesome KICKER
S10L7 square DVC subwoofer in a sealed enclosure in my trunk. This box fired
directly thru the armrest area into the main cabin of the car. Powering this
solutions is an Alpine MRV-T500 amp, although an Alpine MRV-100M would have been
just fine. Since the T500 does not have speaker level inputs like the 100M, I used
an AudioLink Powerlink ][ LINE converter to patch off the SUB 1 signal from the sub
wiring harness and convert it to a preamp line output RCA cable.

The sound is just simply AMAZING!!! Trust me on this one, I am a major audiophile head,
my other car had TWO 12" Kicker Solobarics, this BMW I decided to go less and see if I could
get the same result and I DID! The Kicker S10L7 (10" Square DVC) sub is just simply a work
of art. Truely clean, perfect bass reproduction, zero distortion, ZERO COMPLAINTS!! I would
not change a think. The use of the MB Quart speakers inside with the DSP amp power and running
an Alpine amp for the single subwoofer is perfect. Truely perfect, and I do not usually say
that, I mean my last car was 4 Alpine amps, 10 speakers, 1080 watts rms, this car is only
300 watts RMS from the Alpine sub amp, along with all new MB Quart RSB215 components
in the doors ran by the stock DSP amp. And I am picky, I listen to everything from Classical
and Jazz to Rap and Punk. This system does it all!
Details on how to build the box and its dimensions are HERE!
Ok, here are the pictures:

View of Kicker S10L7 Sub firing thru armrest area, yes I CUT the rear seat where the ski bag would have gone to fit the woofer perfectly into the cabin. This is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to get the bass perfectly into the cabin instead of bouncing around in the trunk.

What the car looks like with arm rest down but flat up, you could leave the armrest up if you want, you will get just slightly less bass into the cabin, but no biggy.

Subwoofer box mounted in trunk securely with amp and line converter mounted on top of it. Wires still showing, I have already cleaned that up. Now I need to carpet the box!

Perfectly sealed 1 CU FT sub box with 60 degree slant to fit back seat. Glued, Screwed, Siliconed 3/4" MDF

I built to 60 degree, actual seat back is 62 degree, but that is just fine

BMW provides a nice 50 amp fuse ready to go! Its the fuse that ends with 901 (red one)

Patched the remote turn on lead off the white wire, had to solder a Y split to extend it long enough and make it clean with shrink wrap
